Katherine is registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors with Approved Clinical Supervisor Designation (RCC - ACS). She is also a Certified Canadian Counsellor with almost two decades of clinical experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Victoria.
Katherine began her clinical career working with children on the autism spectrum and joined Child and Youth Mental Health in 2007, where she worked as a mental health clinician for four years and a clinical supervisor for eight. She opened her private practice in 2015, working with children, youth, adults, and families with concerns ranging from anxiety and depression to complex developmental trauma.

Katherine is a trauma, attachment and relationship-focussed therapist who is especially interested in helping clients understand themselves in the context of their relationships. She is trained in Mentalization-Based Treatment for personality disorders and is certified in EMDR (Eye movement Sensitization and Reprocessing) and Trauma-focussed CBT. She has helped countless clients understand and overcome their symptoms of anxiety and depression with both CBT and insight-oriented approaches.

Katherine adapts her approaches to meet the needs and developmental levels of her clients. She is skilled in play and expressive-based approaches for her young clients and connects easily with even the most difficult teens. Katherine is a knowledgeable and non-judgmental support to parents of children of all ages. She is a certified coder of the Adult Attachment Interview and certified trainer in Modified Interaction Guidance.

Katherine is a passionately neurodiversity-affirmative therapist who focuses on strengths and building resilience. She understands that neurodiversity does not mean “less than”, but simply represents a different way of thinking and engaging in the world. She is a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS) and offers her clients access to the Safe and Sound Protocol (visit our Single Session Support page for more information). She has extensive training and experience in working with children, youth, and adults who are on the autism spectrum or who meet criteria for ADHD.
Clinical Supervisor and Educator
Katherine is a sought-after clinical supervisor and educator. She has over thirteen years of experience providing clinical supervision to counsellors on difficult mental health cases and has mentored many students on their journey to professional practice. Katherine is often called upon to provide education in both community and clinical settings in the areas of neurodiversity, trauma, mental health, resilience and clinical practice with children, youth and adults. She is well respected for her engaging and informative presentations and workshops.
Katherine is thrilled to announce that she has expanded her practice to develop an innovative and integrative online learning platform for both new and established clinical counsellors.
